Avital Friedman holds an MSW from Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She is currently the coordinator of Haruv-USA at OU-Tulsa, a satellite of Haruv Institute, Israel’s leading authority on child abuse and neglect. Established by the Schusterman Foundation in Israel in 2007, Haruv Institute focuses on child maltreatment training and research in the field.
From 1999-2006, Avital worked as a social worker at Therapeutic Child-Parent Center for at-risk children and their families in Jerusalem. From 2006-2011, she was Director of the Learning Center and Beer-Sheva Conference of the National Council for Children. Since 2012, Avital has worked at the Haruv Institute as Director of Learning and Social Work Programs. She also coordinated the welfare and child abuse and neglect simulation programs at the Israel Center for Medical Simulation (MSR) at the Sheba Medical Center.
