  • Community in Action: Guíamos South OKC Community Celebration

    On Saturday April 22, 2017 the OKC Southside Initiative, an innovative social work practicum unit of 6 interns instructed of Dr. Brady, co-hosted the Guíamos community event in South Oklahoma City.   • Community Engagement: Generalist Practice with Organizations & Communities Course

    On Friday, December 9, 2016, BSW students at the University of Oklahoma presented on semester projects from their Generalist Practice with Organizations & Communities course, team-taught by Drs. Moxley and Brady.   • I Count

      On Monday, October 20th social work students joined together to participate in the "I Count" movement. The purpose was to identify persons living on the streets in Norman/Cleveland County. The students served people and helped interview them.   Read More...

  • Filed Instructor Spotlight

      Ann Benson is a board member of Parents Helping Parents, an organization which has chapters in Norman, Tulsa, and Edmond. This non-profit is comprised of parents who are concerned about drug/alcohol use in their adolescent or adult children. The organization is 100% volunteer-based with a mission of providing education, resources, and support for parents.   Read More...

  • 2015-2016 Scholarships

      Fifty-seven students (just a few of whom are pictured above) at both the graduate and undergraduate level received departmental scholarships for the 2015-2016 year through 16 different scholarships earmarked specifically for social work students ranging in amounts from $100-$5,000.   • Class of 2015

      In 2015, 42 students graduated with their Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from the Anne and Henry Zarrow School of Social Work. In Norman and Tulsa combined, 125 students graduated with their Master in Social Work this spring with another 31 projected to graduate this summer. That means 198 social workers graduated/will graduate this year and are headed out to serve their community.   Read More...
