  • Community in Action: Guíamos South OKC Community Celebration

    On Saturday April 22, 2017 the OKC Southside Initiative, an innovative social work practicum unit of 6 interns instructed of Dr. Brady, co-hosted the Guíamos community event in South Oklahoma City. The focus of Guíamos was on bringing community members together to celebrate youth produced creative, literary, visual, and performance arts that were undertaken as part of the Southside Initiative’s winter/spring programming.   Read More...

    On Friday, December 9, 2016, BSW students at the University of Oklahoma presented on semester projects from their Generalist Practice with Organizations & Communities course, team-taught by Drs. Moxley and Brady.   • Hope Theory to Reduce Critical Incidents Among Soldiers

    Social Work Faculty member Ric Munoz recently visited, along with Human Relations professor and Assistant Dean Chan Hellman, US Army and Air Force base Joint Base Lewis McChord (JBLM) just outside of Seattle. The purpose of the visit was to begin training military chaplains in the usage of hope theory to reduce critical incidents among soldiers, particularly suicide.
