We are thrilled to share that faculty member Kirsten Havig has been selected as one of YWCA Tulsa's Women of the Year. "This distinction is reserved for 10 fearless Green Country women who best personify the mission of YWCA Tulsa and have demonstrated their commitment to eliminating racism and empowering women within the last year." Dr. Havig works tirelessly to end human trafficking, sexism, and violence against women. She is committed to social justice and passionate about advocacy. As the MSWSA faculty sponsor for the Tulsa campus, she has helped organize human trafficking awareness events and community dialogues about race relations. She recently spoke to the Oklahoma Legislature about child trafficking. We cannot think of a more deserving individual for this award. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Havig!
The award coincides with YWCA Tulsa's Wine, Women and Shoes event on Saturday, April 11, where each of the women will be presented and honored during the event's "MoxieCouture" fashion program.
