Chris Chase: A Year in Review
The semester is more than half way over and I wonder where the time went. I have been able to experience some cool things. I went to the legislature day to voice my concerns. I have been active in calling representatives about bills I feel are important to the state of affairs in Oklahoma. My practicum has shown me exactly what budget cuts to state agencies are doing to the clients and workers at the agency. School has been tough but rewarding in what I am learning is preparing me for my future job.
And I am tired. I am ready for the semester to end for a break from school for the summer. Last year I took my two electives during the summer, so this summer I am free to not have any classes. I need this time to recharge, to read the books I want to instead of have to, to enjoy the summer with my wife and children, generally give my brain a break before the last hectic year. Self-care is always talked about in classes but now I get to really enjoy the time off to relax this upcoming summer and can’t wait.
